Geocaching Toolkit iGCT 6.3

Geocaching is a global activity involving the concealment and search for hidden treasures. Multi-caches typically consist of two or more locations, with clues directing participants from one location to the next. These clues can sometimes include puzzles, calculations (such as conversions to Roman numerals), or the creation of new waypoints based on distances and bearings. This toolkit can be particularly advantageous when field calculations become cumbersome.

The geocaching toolkit provides assistance through various features:

Waypoint Calculations

• Conversion of coordinates from degrees, minutes, and seconds to alternative formats
• Transformation between WGS84 and UTM coordinates
• Inclusion of RD coordinates for Dutch users
• Support for the Swiss grid system
• Display of entered Latitude/Longitude on the iPhone map application
• Waypoint projection by defining distance and bearing
• Calculation of distance and bearing between two waypoints
• Intersection of two lines using two waypoints and bearings
• Determination of intersecting points of two circles based on two waypoints and distances

Text Calculations

• Calculation of the sum of character values in single or multiple words
• Option to select different numerical assignments for letters (e.g., a=1, b=2; inverse assignment; phone pad assignment)
• Addition of all digits of the result
• Repetitive summation of digits until a single digit remains

Hint Decryption

• Decryption of encoded hint text into plain text

Roman Numbers

• Conversion between Roman numerals and decimal values, and vice versa
